This week's recalls: an herbal tea with undeclared almond, and three more to check for

Check this one first: a “Sneeze Ease” tea with undeclared almond

Canada (CFIA): DAVIDsTEA brand Organic Sneeze Ease Herbal Infusion is a Class 1 recall, the top severity in Canada’s system, for undeclared almond. It’s a wellness tea marketed to ease sneezing and congestion, not the kind of product a tree-nut-allergic household would think to screen. Updated 2026-05-12.

A few more to know

Canada (CFIA): Certain Shaoxing Cooking Wines are also Class 1, for undeclared wheat and gluten. Updated 2026-05-14.

Nutrisystem Chocolate Cheesecake, the 2-ounce frozen package sold 48 to a case, carries undeclared soy. This is a Class II recall, lot CH030426, 5,184 units distributed across AL, AR, CO, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, MS, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, WI, WV, and WY.

UK (FSA): Filippo Berio UK’s Hot Chilli Pesto was recalled for undeclared fish, a possible health risk for anyone with a fish allergy. Notice created 2026-05-16.

The pattern this week

Both Canadian recalls this week are Class 1, and both involve products where the allergen is easy to miss: a wellness tea and a cooking wine, not foods a reader would flag as tree-nut or wheat risks by category alone. The FDA and FSA items are more ordinary labeling misses, soy and fish left off panels they should have been on.

Before you go

The recall notices, with photos and lot numbers, are linked on each product above. I run this sweep every week and post what an allergy household would actually want flagged.

Not medical advice. Every reaction is different, so follow the emergency action plan you built with your allergist; if you do not have one, that is the ask for your next visit. When a reaction is severe or you are not sure how bad it is, do not delay epinephrine, then call for help.

These are summaries of official recall notices from the U.S. FDA, USDA FSIS, Canada's CFIA, and the UK FSA. Each product above links to its primary source. This is reporting on public recall notices, not a substitute for medical advice.
