Check this one first: last week’s aquafaba recall came back as an ice cream sandwich
Blank Slate Creamery in Ann Arbor is recalling its Vegan Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert Coconut Fudge Sandwiches for undeclared egg. The reason is last week’s recall. Blank Slate used the Rooted in RARE aquafaba powder, the egg replacer that turned out to contain egg, and the FDA notice names those same two UPCs and the same Best by 12/14/2026 and 12/12/2027 dates as the trigger.
The sandwiches are 4.5 oz in clear plastic, best by 11/23/26 and 1/9/27, sold at three store locations in Ann Arbor and Brighton, Michigan. No illnesses have been reported.
Nothing on the Blank Slate wrapper was wrong about Blank Slate. The egg arrived in a supplier’s bag that was itself mislabeled, and by the time it reached the freezer case it had been through two honest labels. Reading the panel does not catch that one.

Sun Noodle recalled 134 packages of Sura Tanmen Hot and Sour Flavor Premium Japanese Noodles & Soup Base for undeclared fish. A customer wrote in to say the soup base in the kit did not match the Sura Tanmen base, and the internal investigation found a soba sauce, which contains fish, packed into the wrong kit. Lot 1226183, 15.4 oz, UPC 085315054108, distributed only in Hawaii between July 9 and July 29 through Don Quijote, Don Don Donki Kapolei, Marukai, Nijiya, Times Super Market, H-Mart Kakaako, Tokyo Central, Suisan, Golden Touch Trading, and Roy’s at Ko Olina.
The CFIA recalled PC Organics and Frankie’s Organic plant-based cheddar corn puffs and crunchies for undeclared milk, at Class 1, nationally and online. Five products are named: PC Organics Plant-Based Cheddar baked corn puffs in 142 g and 336 g, the Cheddar Jalapeno puffs in 142 g, the baked corn crunchies in 142 g, and Frankie’s Organic Plant-Based Puffs Vegan Cheddar in 113 g. A plant-based cheddar puff is a bag the milk-allergic household picks up on the strength of the front of the packet.

The pattern this week
Two of the five are free-from products carrying the thing they are free from, a vegan dessert with egg and a plant-based cheddar puff with milk. The Sun Noodle kit is the other shape, the right box holding the wrong sauce, found by a customer who noticed the packet looked off and wrote in rather than eating it.
The chain from the aquafaba is the one to keep. One mislabeled ingredient bag reached a three-store creamery, and the creamery’s own label was wrong from the moment the bag came through the door. The recall notice is the only thing standing between that and the freezer.
