An almond spread with three other nuts in it, and seven more
Check this one first: an almond and cocoa spread that also contains cashew, pistachio, and hazelnut
L-Nutra is recalling Prolon brand Apulian Almond & Cocoa Spread for undeclared cashew, pistachio, and hazelnut. Almond is on the label. Almond is in the product name. Almond is not the problem. The three nuts nobody declared are, and L-Nutra has documented one confirmed allergic reaction.
A tree nut allergy is rarely an allergy to all tree nuts, so a jar that says almond has already told a cashew-allergic reader what they came to find out, and they stop reading. The affected lot is L2755 in 8.47 oz glass jars, UPC 850040360530, expiration January 2, 2027, printed on the jar cap. It sold on ProlonLife.com on its own and inside certain Prolon bundles. Testing found the nuts; the cause is still under investigation.

Frankie’s Organic is recalling 94 cases of its Plant-Based Vegan Cheddar Puffs in the US for undeclared milk. The recall followed two complaints of allergic reactions to the related products sold in Canada, the ones the CFIA pulled at Class 1 nine days earlier. 4 oz bags, UPC 816929000089, lot code 05 16 2027, sold at PCC Markets in Washington State, Earth Fare in Florida and South Carolina, and independent retailers in those regions. Frankie’s traced the cause to a seasoning at the supplier level.
The CFIA widened its July recall of Mounit el Bait Tahina to cover the Halva as well, undeclared peanut, Class 1, in Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec. Seven products are now listed: Tahina 454 g, Halva Plain 454 g and 908 g, Halva with Pistachios 454 g and 908 g, and Halva with Chocolate 454 g and 908 g, all codes where peanut is not declared. If you pulled the tahina off the shelf in July and kept the halva, the halva is on the list now.
Various Salem Foods jarred products carry undeclared wheat, mustard, and sesame, across Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan. The list runs through rosemary, spearmint, dill seeds, fennel seeds, anise seeds, black seeds, citric acid and more, all codes where the three are not declared. A spice jar is the container whose panel nobody re-reads at the stove.

Sold to 49 US customers through Amazon between March and June 2026, 3 oz, UPC 6 28634 44216 6, best before 2026 AUGUST 31. The FDA notice says the recall started from a CFIA retail sample.

The pattern this week
The Prolon jar is the one to sit with. It names a nut on the front, and naming one is enough to end most people’s reading. Three more were inside, and the person who found out was the person who reacted.
The Frankie’s puffs went the other way round the same corner. Two people in Canada reacted, the CFIA pulled the Canadian bags, and the US notice followed three days later for the same product line and the same milk. Nothing about the American bag changed in between. The recall crossed the border after the reactions did.
